Shri Halai Lohana Mahajan Mumbai came into existence in 1805, at that time 8 different heads from halai lohana community were handling their administration for the community people differently
In 1839 Late Shri Karamshi Shamji purchased a wadi (Hall) at Thakurdwar, Mumbai and donated the same to Halai Lohana Mahajan.
In the historic meeting of 15-07-1905, all the 8 differently operated halai lohana administrations were merged and “Shri Halai Lohana Mahajan Trust” was formed by appointing first president in 1908. Various trusts are operating under the umbrella of “Shri Halai Lohana Mahajan Trust”.
“Shri Halai Lohana Mahajan Trust” has been working for the upbringing of the community and betterment of its people for more than 100 years now.
In the elections of 1996, Shri Satishbhai Dattani was appointed as a president following the guidance and suggestions of Shri Trikamjibhai Chatwani, Shri Mahendrabhai Ghelani and Shri Kakubhai Ganatra (Bhagat). Since then looking at the changes and the trends in new generation he has done auspicious changes and has taken many priceless decisions which have helped Mahajan to progress, excel and expand. These changes attracted the youth of the community and as a result most people from the community started taking advantage of the services offered by the Mahajan. He’s also helped extending the boundaries of the areas from dahisar to virar so that more people from the community can advantage of the services offered by Mahajan. Ever since him taking charge, he promoted the activities and community services which helped Mahajan to penetrate and reach more people from the community. The trust today conducts multipurpose activities managed by 27 different committees and is bifurcated in 5 different zones in Mumbai, which fulfils all requirements and covers all aspects of life.
